• The vat exemption and the registration as a balcony power plant storage system only apply if the storage system is operated with its own photovoltaic panels and stores their electricity.

• If the storage is exclusively charged from the public power grid or used as a buffer storage for an existing photovoltaic system that feeds into the public power grid, it is not considered a balcony power plant storage. in these cases, both the vat exemption and the option to register the storage as a balcony power plant storage with the grid operator are no longer applicable.
